NSF Releases Solicitation on Harnessing the Data Revolution (HDR)
SIAM Response to ICE Duration of Status

SIAM opposes the proposed policy change, which would limit the stay of international students, exchange visitors, and others in the U.S. to a fixed time when they come for their studies. Read the full statement.

NSF HDR Solicitation

HDR is a national-scale activity to enable new modes of data-driven discovery. NSF anticipates up to a total of $70 million in funding to be available for four to seven five-year awards. Proposals are due January 21, 2021. Learn more.

SIAM Industry Panel: From Applied Mathematicians to Entrepreneurs
Industry Panel Video
SIAM hosted an hour-long virtual panel discussion in October on industrial and entrepreneurial careers for applied mathematicians. Organized by the SIAM Industry Committee, it featured four panelists who described their own industry experiences and offered advice to students and early career mathematicians interested in entrepreneurship. SIAM Student Travel Awards and SIAM Early Career Travel Awards Still Available
SIAM Prize Nominations

The nomination deadline for the 2021 Germund Dahlquist Prize and George Pólya Prize for Mathematical Exposition has been extended to November 16, 2020. Learn more and nominate a colleague.

SIAM Travel Awards

CSE21, SDM21, and SODA21 and its associated meetings have all pivoted to virtual format, but Applications for Travel Awards are still being accepted and awards will be applied to a waiver of registration fees.
