SIAM Welcomes New Development Associate

The team at SIAM keeps growing as it welcomes a new Development Associate. Get to know Kristy!

Kristy Kingan, Development Associate

Kristy Kingan brings impressive experience to our fundraising efforts. She has served at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Bryan Mawr College. She is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster and resides here in Philadelphia.

Q: Why are you excited to be working at SIAM?

A: I’m excited to work at SIAM because its members are doing interesting and important work all over the world. As somebody who mainly focused on the liberal arts in college, it’s fascinating to see how career mathematicians use work.

Q: Why do you think STEM is important?

A: I think STEM is important because some of the biggest issues facing our society, like climate change and current and future public health crises, can really only be solved through research and data from the STEM community.

Q: What is one thing that most people do not know about you?

A: In 2016, I got a level 1 certification from the International Court of Master Sommeliers. I briefly wrote an “Ask the Sommelier” column for a wine website and led some wine tours down in Old City for a little while. Pro-tip, a nice Cava goes with everything!

Please join all of us here at SIAM in welcoming Kristy to the team!
