Announcing Young Friends of SIAM

Are you a student or an early career SIAM member, 35 years old or younger, and have you made a charitable gift to SIAM in 2024? If so, you can now join Young Friends of SIAM!

We are thrilled to announce Young Friends of SIAM—a new philanthropy group for SIAM’s students and early career members aimed at encouraging our younger members to learn about the value of philanthropy and develop lifelong habits of volunteerism and giving back while thanking and acknowledging them for their support.

Students and early career members of SIAM who are 35 years old or younger and who make a gift can join Young Friends of SIAM. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with peers who share similar views on giving and to show others that you are committed to enacting change in the applied mathematics community.

Young Friends of SIAM members will be thanked and acknowledged for their support and will receive a special welcome gift when they join! They will be provided with periodic updates on how their giving has impacted SIAM, have an opportunity to be featured in SIAM communications, and will be invited to a special recognition event at the 2024 SIAM Annual Meeting – more details to come.

You can join Young Friends of SIAM if:

  • You are 35 years old or younger
  • You make an annual gift to SIAM of at least $10 (student members) or $25 (early career members)
  • Your birth year is included in your SIAM account profile

If you meet these criteria, you will be automatically enrolled in the group. SIAM is excited to add this new group to encourage a culture of philanthropy among students and early career professionals and show that everyone’s support makes a difference.

If you have any questions about Young Friends of SIAM please contact Aleisha Kehm, Development Officer, at [email protected] or (267) 350–6328. Thank you for all that you do for SIAM.
