Upcoming SIAM UKIE National Student Chapter Conference in Edinburgh

Edinburgh SIAM-IMA Student Chapter to Host Two-day Student Event in June 2022

The Edinburgh SIAM-IMA Student Chapter is pleased to announce that the 2022 SIAM UKIE National Student Chapter Conference (NSCC) will take place at the University of Edinburgh from June 23-24, 2022. This event marks the first time that a Scottish university will host the yearly meeting. The NSCC is a two-day conference that features four plenary speakers, approximately 16 talks by Ph.D. students, and a student poster competition on the evening of the first day. It will be held completely in person at the University of Edinburgh's George Square campus.

The four plenary speakers are as follows:

  • Gabriela Gomes (University of Strathclyde)
  • Martin Schmidt (University of Trier)
  • Andrew Duncan (Imperial College London)
  • Małgorzata Zimoń (IBM Research)

Titles and abstracts for these talks are forthcoming.

The call for contributed talks and posters is now open, as is registration. Registration is free and some travel awards will be available for attendees! The NSCC is a great opportunity for participants to meet Ph.D. students from different universities, deliver conference talks to a friendly audience, and listen to some great presentations by the plenary and contributed speakers.

Further details are available on the conference website. Those with questions should contact the Edinburgh SIAM-IMA Student Chapter at [email protected].
