SIAM Welcomes New Staff Members

The team here at SIAM has grown over the last while, bringing on board three new members of staff. Get to know them!

Eva M. Donnelly, Meeting Manager

Eva is an accomplished meeting professional with over 25 years of experience in both non-profit and for profit sectors. She has held the designation of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) since 2008, and served as President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) in 2007. Eva lives in Southern New Jersey where she enjoys camping and hiking with her husband and rescue dog, Lucky.

Q: Why are you excited to be working at SIAM?

A: I am excited to be working at SIAM to be part of a highly productive and effective Conference Management team.

Q: Why do you think STEM is important?

A: STEM is essential to advance knowledge and understanding of the planet we inhabit (and beyond)!

Q: What is one thing that most people don't know about you?

A: In 1976, my family took a cross-country road trip in a VW van from Redondo Beach, CA to Philadelphia to celebrate the bicentennial.

Maneesha Korrapati, Programmer

Maneesha completed her Bachelors in India and started her career working as a developer with a start-up company in India, later working in Australia. Maneesha has worked in various fields and gained considerable experience with developing and scripting technologies, leading to her current employment with SIAM. She spends her free time cooking good food, watching movies, gardening, and travelling.

Q: Why are you excited to be working at SIAM? 

A: I have always wondered how different professors and students come together and meet on various applied mathematics discussions held at various places across the world. After I got to know SIAM, most of my questions are being answered, so it's been interesting to work here and to know how it all works.

Q: Why do you think STEM is important?

A: My opinion is STEM is important from a very young age as it pervades every part of our life.

Q: What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?

A: I am an Australian resident and cook very delicious Indian food, which most people don't know about me.

Doug P. Smock, Graphic Designer

Doug received a BFA degree in printmaking from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. After graduation, he spent a few years in the Sign and Pictorial Painter’s Union painting billboards. Doug's first design job in publishing was with the American Bar Association. Following his time with the ABA, Doug specialized in the design of medical, nursing, and allied health content. In 2008, he spent 3 weeks traveling throughout India as part of a fact finding mission to partner with new offshore vendors as print moved toward a digital platform. Doug is an animal lover with two dogs, Jasper and Frida.

Q: Why are you excited to be working at SIAM?

A: It's exciting to be a part of the dedicated team at SIAM publishing applied mathematics, computational science, and other STEM content written by the world's foremost intellects. In addition, the SIAM organization promotes and celebrates diversity both internally and externally.

Q: Why do you think STEM is important?

A: STEM technologies create advancements in industry and develop technologies currently unimaginable.

Q: What is one thing that most people don't know about you?

A: What most people don't know about me is that as an editorial illustrator I was a regular contributor to several national magazines, including The Atlantic and Playboy. I also designed and illustrated a 45 for the artist Prince (Take Me With U).
