SIAM Virtual Career Fair on July 7

Catching up with friends while learning new science is a highlight of the SIAM Annual Meeting. For members of our community who need a job, the meeting offers another crucial service – the Career Fair. Hundreds of young and mid-career mathematical scientists crowd the room, talking excitedly with technical staff and recruiters from companies large and small, and from a cross-section of national labs. Coronavirus might have cancelled the meeting, but not the Career Fair!

This year, SIAM is offering a new opportunity for students, speakers, and members – its first-ever Virtual Career Fair, coming soon on Tuesday July 7, to any location near you with an internet connection.

To participate in the career fair, you simply need to be a SIAM member or registered for the (free) Annual Meeting. And if you’re a student, remember you can be nominated for free membership by any non-student member of SIAM. If you haven’t done so already, ask your advisor to nominate you today. Speakers who were scheduled for the Annual Meeting in Toronto are also invited to participate in the Career Fair.

Registration is free for job seekers. Employers will be recruiting for interns, postdocs, and fulltime positions. So, we invite you to freshen up your resume and register today for the SIAM Virtual Career Fair.

Employers can learn more about how to participate and/or sponsor here.

We look forward to seeing many job seekers and employers (virtually!) in July and making the inaugural SIAM Virtual Career Fair a great success!
