Learn more about the 2016 election and please - vote today!

Remembering Applied Mathematician Joseph Keller

Joseph Bishop Keller, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, passed away on Wednesday at age 93. Joe served on the SIAM Board of Trustees (1975-1878) and was active in SIAM journals and conferences. He won the ICIAM Lagrange Prize, the Theodore von Karman Prize (1984), and SIAM’s John von Neumann lecture prize (1983). We are proud to have had Joe as a member of the SIAM community and celebrate his life and accomplishments as a major figure in applied math. Learn more about Joe’s life from Stanford News.

Message from Membership: SIAGs & Outreach

As you have seen in your 2017 membership renewal, this year there was a small price increase of $5/year to SIAG and Outreach memberships approved by the SIAM Board and Council. Because SIAM strives to provide a high level of services for our members at a minimal price, we have not increased the Outreach membership rate in 13 years and have never increased the SIAG rate in the decades that the program has existed.  In order to keep up with rising costs over this time, we have now found it necessary to make a small increase to the annual dues. Please contact me directly with any questions or comments regarding this change – your input is welcome!

Thank you,
