Math in Our Lives Series: Multiscale Modeling and Simulation: A SIAM Interdisciplinary Journal

How can math affect how researchers predict the migration of bacteria and inform the public, assist with recovery of corrupted data, or anticipate disease diagnosis using DNA? These are topics of recent SIAM journal articles that are addressed in our NEW video series - Math in our Lives! Watch this video to find out how math can help us learn more about where deadly bacteria will migrate over large space and time scales, the equations governing chaotic systems and how they can be used to recover physical information from corrupt data, and multiscale analysis and upscaling techniques that hold predictive value in disease diagnosis.
