Explore SIAM's New Website at AN18

Stop by the exhibit hall of the Annual Meeting Tuesday or Wednesday and explore the new SIAM website! We are excited to offer a newly-designed website which is now mobile friendly. Ask us your questions and tell us what you think of it. Your thoughts will be used to help guide future updates and improvements. With such an overhaul of our site, we are seeking reports on any bugs you should find, too. If you're not at AN18, submit bugs and feedback through the Feedback or Suggestions buttons; both buttons can be found at the bottom of the website. Learn more about the site's new features.

Hot Off the Press

Linear Stochastic Systems
Linear Stochastic Systems, originally published in 1988, is today as comprehensive a reference to the theory of linear discrete-time-parameter systems as ever. Its most outstanding feature is the unified presentation, including both input-output and state space representations of stochastic linear systems, together with their interrelationships. Core-Chasing Algorithms for the Eigenvalue Problem
This book presents a new view of John Francis’s implicitly shifted QR algorithm, which has been the method of choice for small to medium sized eigenvalue problems since 1959. The new version chases core transformations (not bulges), allowing the development of fast algorithms for eigenvalue problems with a variety of special structures. This also leads to a fast and backward stable algorithm for computing the roots of a polynomial by solving the companion matrix eigenvalue problem. Learn more.
