SIAM Gains 124 members in Member-Get-A-Member Campaign

The Member-Get-a-Member program encourages SIAM members to invite their colleagues to join SIAM. This past year, 99 members referred 124 colleagues who joined SIAM as a result. For every newly referred member, both the person making the referral and the new member were entered into a drawing to win a prize. Congratulations to the following people, whose names were randomly selected on February 2, 2017, from all who were eligible. (Each member who made a successful referral will also receive a SIAM t-shirt.)

  • Antonio C. Ionita, of Mathworks, won an iPad. Ionita referred his colleagues Christopher Turnes and Patrick Quillen, also of Mathworks, who both joined SIAM as a result.
  • Ming-Chih Lai, of National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan, won a free year of SIAM membership. He referred his colleagues Te-Sheng Lin, Tie Wu, and Daniel Spector, also of National Chiao Tung University, and Myungjoo Kang, of Seoul National University, all of whom joined SIAM as a result.
  • Matheus Grasselli, of McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, won a free registration to the SIAM conference of his choice. He joined SIAM after being referred by his colleague, SIAM member Mike Ludkovski, of the University of California Santa Barbara.
  • Troy Rockwood, of HRL Laboratories, Malibu, CA, won a free SIAM book of his choice. He joined SIAM after being referred by his colleague Christopher Anderson, of UCLA.

Thanks to all who participated! A new contest starts now, so refer your colleagues for a chance to win next year.
