One More Month: Nominate Your Colleague for a SIAM Prize

It’s that time of year again! Nominations are officially open for the SIAM major prizes and awards, and we want to know who you think should be honored in 2016. These prizes are an opportunity for our community to recognize those in the field making important contributions. So what are you waiting for? Prizes will be awarded at the SIAM Annual Meeting (AN16) next summer in Boston. Learn more and send your thoughts our way by November 1.

The John von Neumann Lecture

SIAM’s flagship lecture, awarded annually since 1959 for outstanding and distinguished contributions to the field of applied mathematics and for the effective communication of these ideas to the community. SIAM welcomes your suggestions for lecturer. Learn more and submit your suggestions.

Richard C. DiPrima Prize

Awarded biennially to an early career researcher who has done outstanding research in applied mathematics and who has completed his/her doctoral dissertation and all other requirements for the doctorate during the period three years to one year prior to the award date, that is, from July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2015. Selection is based on the candidates’ dissertations. Learn more and submit your nomination.

George Pólya Prize in Combinatorics

Awarded every four years since 1969 for a notable application of combinatorial theory. The prize is broadly intended to recognize specific recent work. Learn more and submit your nomination.

W. T. and Idalia Reid Prize

Awarded annually for research in, or other contributions to, the broadly defined areas of differential equations and control theory. The prize is given for a single notable achievement or for a collection of such achievements. The recipient is requested to give a lecture at the meeting. Learn more and submit your nomination.

AWM-SIAM Sonia Kovalevsky Lecture

A joint prize awarded to highlight significant contributions of women to applied or computational mathematics. Learn more and submit your nomination.
