Bernd Sturmfels

Bernd Sturmfels is a professor of mathematics, statistics, and computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. Starting in summer 2017, he will be  director of the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences in Leipzig, Germany. He serves as the editor-in-chief of The SIAM Journal on Applied Algebra and Geometry (SIAGA).
